Militarism’s finished. It’s been finished for two days, and I’m pretty glad with how it’s turned out and how quickly it’s being picked up; as I type this, we have 13 users. My advance invite only went out to about 5 people, and I’ve only personally recruited maybe 6.
However, this leaves me with another finished project, and that gnawing question: what now?
I need to build something else. Something else that’s really cool. I know Parakeet 2.0 is next on the list, but I’m still doing some ‘relaxing’(read: working on other things) before I really get started on that.
This is a problem that I always have when I’m working on my own projects. I’ll finish one, and then pause for a while to try and figure out what to do next.
I guess it’s not so bad, though; it does keep me a little more relaxed than some other people I know.
Well, back to hacking.

Well, it’s a new year. And everyone seems to be making New Year’s Resolutions.
I can’t say I’m all that enthused.
However, I’ve recently come upon something that COULD serve as a sort of resolution for me, along with helping me get a lot more work done on my projects. And that something is The Daily Screenshot Initiative. The rules are pretty simple:
- Every working day(monĂ¢â?¬â??fri), I post a screenshot of whatever I’m working on(this frequency may increase as I become more motivated)
And…that’s it. However, I can virtually gurantee that it will make me more productive; the idea has sprung up because I’ve been screenshotting like mad lately in order to show contacts things I was working on, and I wanted to just keep all the photos on flickr instead of doing file transfers/hosting them myself. It’ll also serve as a sort of pseudo-archive for me, so that I can look back and be like “hey, that’s what I worked on last friday!”.
For now, I’m going to work on setting something up so that my pictures will display in the sidebar. The screenshot for today is already up, although there will probably be more on the way.
If you’d like to see the latest 200 photos in my photostream, go to http://flickr.com/photos/girasquid.
